Flamingo's Steakhouse

While meeting our friends for a double date one evening we were challenged to find a close parking spot.  Once we realized that we'd have to use a garage , my wife say's

Well flamingo's has valet parking, we should just eat there.

I started looking for something that was pink or flamingo-esk  but all I found was a sign for Flemings Steakhouse.

We laughed all the way to our parking spot.

Maple Nuts

So while at her baby shower this past weekend, a discussion around the smell of Amy's friend's purse came up.  The purse in question distinctly smelt of maple syrup.  So the following paraphrased conversation continued:

Owner of the Purse: Is maple syrup made of Phenu Greek?
Amy: No, it's made of maples
Everyone: oh...
Friend: Amy can you expound on that... [as she smiles]
Amy: It's a nut that grows on maple trees
[moment of silence]
Unanimous Friend: I'm pretty sure it comes from the tree trunk, from the sap.

Ahhh, maple nuts!

LILY

So I'm getting ready to use the word "lily" on my facebook status and I ask my wife if it has two "L"s or not.  Without a beat here is what I heard:

"Like the name or the bird?"

Awkward pause... then I replied:

"Like the flower..."

Lots of laughter on this one.

Young Doe

While sharing a memory of searching for colleges during her late teens, Amy used this phrase to describe herself.

"I was just a young doe ready to conquer the world!"

I do have to wonder how many female deer out there are inspired by this phrase...
